Duane T. Smyth, O.D.
Duane T. Smyth, O.D joined Southwestern Pennsylvania Eye Center in 1998. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Biology. He received his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from ICO as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. In 1986, Dr. Smyth was one of the first optometrists to pass The Treatment and Management of Ophthalmic Disease exams in Pennsylvania. In 1998, he expanded the scope of his license by completing a 100 hour therapeutic course at the University of Missouri, St. Louis. Most recently, in 2003, Dr. Smyth became certified to manage glaucoma, the highest certification for optometrists in Pennsylvania. He resides in Mt. Lebanon with his wife and three children.
