Southwestern Pennsylvania Eye Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art, Medicare and nationally accredited* ambulatory surgery center. The surgery center opened for business in 1988 and is staffed by a highly skilled team of anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, registered nurses and ancillary staff.
Rachael Bruno is the Clinical Director at Southwestern Pennsylvania Eye Center. She has been a registered nurse for over 16 years. She began working in the surgery center in 2018 starting out in the Pre-Op and PACU areas then has transitioned to become the Clinical Director in 2020. Rachael attended California University of Pennsylvania and Community College of Allegheny County where she earned an Associate's of Science in Nursing. Rachael resides in Washington with her husband David, and their three children.
A variety of ocular surgeries are performed at the center including cataract, retina, cornea, and oculoplastics, as well as other laser procedures. The center performs over 3,000 procedures annually.
Southwestern Pennsylvania Eye Surgery Center is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
